I remeber playing this game on my old HP laptop 5 years ago :D Now it is going to be amazing on Retina Macbook Pro ;P
I was so excited to see this game for mac. After playing it for a couple of hours I reached the point where you take the suttle to Telos than the game crashed. I am unable to get past that point; the game keeps crashing!!!!
Faced game breaking bug that doesn’t allow me to pass Telos. Tried many visual tweaks, internet tweaks. Game simply doesn’t allow me to progress. Otherwise, the game is great. Well, as great as a game can be when you can’t actually complete it.
Was going great but it glitched and i cant go to the restoration zone on telos… kind of a bummer that i paid money and this happens. Right when i enter the shuttle to go there it shows all the cut scenes and then quits the app saying something went wrong
Can’t go any further than Telos..
Fantastic Sequal to Kotor 1. I have not encountered any major glitches or bugs so far and I have the game running with full graphics on my 2011 Macbook Pro.
Seriously… If you cant read or you cant read instructions, dont buy this game. If you follow all instructions, this game will not freeze on, after or near Telos. Period. With that being said, Aspyr has done a great job of inventing an avalanche of new glitches, errors and generally unlikable things in this port. Ive gotten to the point where all dialogue has ceased with 70% of my crew, for absolutely no reason; Ive successfully gained influences and maintained communication - only to have all dialogue cease after a certain point (older saves and re-starts are useless). I have played through the game multiple times (light side and dark) on the original xbox and those problems were never there. So now I have the awesome choice of: start over and hope for the best (im halfway through the game already), or just choke this bull$*!& down and forget I ever played this junker port. Awesome choices. Im fairly correct to assume Aspyr will never clue in and fix their $%!!, because theyre too busy moving on to butcher the next port! In addition to a complete loss of the main focal point of the game, you can expect to encounter complete losses of sound during conversations - so you’ll have to quit and re-launch, then open an older save… Or just grit your teeth and move on, if you havent saved often. Some of the content in the added content mod is completely without audio, which begs the question as to why they put it in… I dont overly enjoy poorly placed seg-ways that lead to a lapse of audio and a poor exodus of the random story addition. There probably more… But honestly, thats enough to call it quits for me. Your money will be much better spent finding an original xbox copy of the game and an original xbox. Or, if none of these issue bother you - go hard! buy away. Cheers
Why, Aspyr, why? EDIT: As soon as I opened the game centre app and logged in, it opened fine. Just make sure you are logged in to Game Centre before opening this app. I have benn playing this game nonstop for ~2h and I must say, it is amazing. A very deserving sequel to KOTOR the first.
I have no issue playing the game. Never experienced any crash. The graphics is smooth and the video scene is smooth as well. As long as the Game Center is running, its running great. My macbook pro (2012) running 10.9.5. The game is great.
Will not run. I have spent money to have 6.8 Gigs of useless data on my computer
Bugs are fixed and the game works great! 5/5. One of my favorite games of all time! Now we just need to see SWTOR for mac ;)
This is a 5 star game, hands down. But the game crashes whenever you fly to the Telos restoration zone and I’m stuck there until the game gets patched.
I just spent almost $15 on this game and for some reason it won’t download. When downloading from the app store it gets to about 90% and says there is an error that has occured and tells me to try again. I tried another 4 times but will not work. Please help me fix this! What’s the point of buying a game you can’t play?! I’m downloading this on: MacBook Pro 13” 2012 2.9GHz Intel Core 17 8 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Intel HD GFX 4000 1024 MB Please help!
By which I mean the AI. The friendly AI. It was well known at the time that KOTOR had some issues with your party going rogue and getting themselves, and by extention you, killed. In the original, it was somewhat manageable. Here, however they have apparently taken the approach of solving the problem by removing the AI completely. Your party members no longer even pretend to respond to commands (previously your party members would at least accomplish some of the actions you had lined up for them before defaulting to attacking the furthest enemy on the map and getting you all killed). There are these buttons at the bottom of the screen that are supposed to fix AI behaviour in a certain pattern (Attack, support, ranged, etc…) but as soon as you move on to the next character it defaults back to attack. Oh, and let’s talk about people getting stuck on things. Like corners, and doors, and plain, wide open spaces with no obstacles whatsoever. If you like your characters getting stuck on things, then you’re really in for a treat. Marvel as your main character stands utterly motionless, ignoring your frantic commands, for no apparent reason, while his whole squad gets slaughtered. Thrill as you charge a boss, only to realise that the rest of your team has gotten stuck on that crate back there, and are in no rush to join you. The fun never ends. In short, they took a game that was, discounting nostalgia for a moment, barely playable when it came out ten years ago, and managed to make it utterly unplayable. Avoid this like the plague.
It felt so great to come back to some classics like KOTOR that i thought i’ll never play again since i bought Mac. The game was as great as i remembered, even though, developers didn’t fix some of the bugs, but i guess thats the spirit of the KOTOR series. I had a ton of fun playing this game, and it’s the one of the very few i played more than once I highly recommend it to all Star Wars fans [play the first one first ofc ;)]
The game is best fot “Story mode" Interesting interactions,. “Ways to make money-credits in the game"…. Graphics are acceptable. The part where you get to upgrade your gear and weaponry for completed quests is rewarding. Always liked this game ever since played it 1st.. “Note”-game is not for everyone… 8/10. “Advise’- Play the 1St part 1St..
The game won’t launch. Please fix.
Technically this game is a fine port. Ran great on my 2014 air. There’s some quests that you can’t complete without going in the proper order but that’s whatever. Gameplay wise this is awesome. So much content and stories! The story is extremly compelling and isn’t your typical “Jedi Good Sith Bad” kind of game. If you are a fan of the first game you’ll love KOTOR II. It’s a must play for fans of The Old Republic era and Star Wars in general! Play KOTOR I first though.
This and the original (KOTOR) are practically required playing for anyone even the least bit interested in sci-fi or starwars computer games. Game is based onl the 3.5 edition SRD, which is by far the best stats/skill system ever developed. Easy to understand, well balanced, very fun. Game will keep you entertained for many hours. Runs easily on any decently modern computer, I never saw any bugs in it.
